About this event
Teaching in English has become an essential part of international higher education. As universities welcome an increasing number of international students, academic staff are expected not only to communicate effectively in English but also to create engaging, inclusive and supportive learning environments for students from diverse linguistic, educational and cultural backgrounds.
This two-day international workshop on English Medium Instruction (EMI) has been designed to help academic staff develop the practical knowledge, confidence and teaching strategies needed to successfully teach international students in English.
Organised by the Technical University of Košice (TUKE) as part of the Global Mindset @TUKE initiative, the workshop contributes to TUKE's long-term commitment to the internationalisation of higher education and the continuous professional development of its academic staff.
The programme will be delivered by an internationally recognised Expert in Virtual Exchange (VE), COIL and educational innovation, who also serves as a Full Professor of English Studies.
The workshop is organised by the Technical University of Košice and is open to academic staff from partner universities within the Ulysseus European University Alliance. Participants will have the opportunity to exchange experiences, discuss common challenges in international teaching and establish new professional connections with colleagues from across Europe.
The programme combines interactive discussions, practical activities, peer collaboration and a supportive microteaching session, allowing participants to immediately apply newly acquired EMI strategies in practice.
