 his event\nTeaching in English has become an essential part of internation
 al higher education. As universities welcome an increasing number of inter
 national students\, academic staff are expected not only to communicate ef
 fectively in English but also to create engaging\, inclusive and supportiv
 e learning environments for students from diverse linguistic\, educational
  and cultural backgrounds.\nThis two-day international workshop on English
  Medium Instruction (EMI) has been designed to help academic staff develop
  the practical knowledge\, confidence and teaching strategies needed to su
 ccessfully teach international students in English.\nOrganised by the Tech
 nical University of Košice (TUKE) as part of the Global Mindset @TUKE ini
 tiative\, the workshop contributes to TUKE's long-term commitment to the i
 nternationalisation of higher education and the continuous professional de
 velopment of its academic staff.\nThe programme will be delivered by an in
 ternationally recognised Expert in Virtual Exchange (VE)\, COIL and educat
 ional innovation\, who also serves as a Full Professor of English Studies.
 \nThe workshop is organised by the Technical University of Košice and is 
 open to academic staff from partner universities within the Ulysseus Europ
 ean University Alliance. Participants will have the opportunity to exchang
 e experiences\, discuss common challenges in international teaching and es
 tablish new professional connections with colleagues from across Europe.\n
 The programme combines interactive discussions\, practical activities\, pe
 er collaboration and a supportive microteaching session\, allowing partici
 pants to immediately apply newly acquired EMI strategies in practice.\n\nL
 earning outcomes\nBy the end of the workshop\, participants will be able t
 o:\n\nunderstand the principles of effective English Medium Instruction (E
 MI) in higher education\;\ndesign teaching activities that encourage activ
 e participation in multilingual and multicultural classrooms\;\nstructure 
 lectures and learning materials to improve clarity and accessibility for i
 nternational students\;\napply practical strategies that reduce language-r
 elated barriers to learning\;\ncreate more inclusive learning environments
  for culturally diverse student groups\;\ndeliver a short teaching session
  in English while applying EMI principles\;\nprovide and receive construct
 ive peer feedback in a supportive professional environment.\n\nWho should 
 attend?\nThis workshop is intended for:\n\nacademic staff teaching in Engl
 ish\;\nlecturers preparing to introduce English-taught courses\;\nteachers
  working with international students\;\neducators interested in strengthen
 ing the international dimension of their teaching\;\nacademic staff wishin
 g to exchange good practice with colleagues from across the Ulysseus Allia
 nce.\n\nNo previous EMI training is required.\nWorkshop format\nThe worksh
 op combines:\n\nexpert-led interactive sessions\;\npractical classroom act
 ivities\;\ncollaborative discussions\;\npeer learning and networking\;\nan
  individual microteaching activity with developmental feedback.\n\nPlease 
 note that the microteaching session is not intended to assess participant
 s' English language proficiency. Instead\, it provides a safe and supporti
 ve opportunity to practise new teaching approaches and receive constructiv
 e feedback from peers and the workshop facilitator.\nSession Details\n\n
